Switching guide
Switching from Mercell to Tenderen: a step-by-step guide
You switch from a paid Mercell subscription to Tenderen by giving notice under your Mercell agreement, rebuilding your searches and alerts in Tenderen, and keeping your free Mercell supplier account for submitting bids. Nothing is imported automatically, so run both side by side until your Mercell term ends.
Best for: Suppliers who pay for Mercell mainly to find relevant tenders and who want help reading the tender documents and writing the bid.
What stays in Mercell
Many Norwegian buyers run their competitions in Mercell's tendering tool (KGV). That does not change: when a buyer uses it, you log in there to download documents and submit. Supplier access for submitting is free, so you keep your Mercell user even when you stop paying for the monitoring subscription.
Step by step
- Find the term, renewal date and notice period in your Mercell agreement and give notice in good time. Check the current terms with Mercell, as they can change.
- Write down what you have set up in Mercell: CPV codes, keywords, regions and the tenders you are following. Copy or screenshot them if there is no export.
- Create a Tenderen account and add your company. Norwegian companies are prefilled from the Brønnøysund Register.
- Recreate your alerts in Tenderen with the same CPV codes, keywords and regions. The same alert covers both Doffin and TED.
- Upload earlier bids, CVs, references and certificates to the document library (PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint, up to 50 MB per file), so the AI writer can reuse them.
- Invite the colleagues who work on bids. Pro includes up to 5 users.
- Compare the alerts from both services for a week or two, adjust CPV codes and keywords, and let the Mercell subscription end at the renewal date.
What is not imported
- Saved searches and alert profiles from Mercell
- Your list of followed tenders and their status
- Notes, messages and documents stored in Mercell
- Competitions you are taking part in: they continue in KGV, and Tenderen does not connect to KGV
A realistic plan
- Day 1: account, company profile and alerts.
- First week: compare alerts side by side and tune the CPV codes and keywords.
- Before the renewal date: give notice to Mercell.
- Ongoing: write bids in Tenderen and submit them in the buyer's tool.
Choose something else if
- You only need to submit bids — submitting in KGV is free without any subscription.
- You need the buyer's price schedules filled in automatically; Tenderen does not do that.
- You need a supplier that is ISO 27001 certified today; Tenderen's certification is in progress.
- You need single sign-on (SSO/SAML); it is not available yet.
Frequently asked questions
- Can Tenderen import my Mercell data?
- No. There is no import from Mercell. You rebuild alerts in Tenderen from your CPV codes, keywords and regions.
- Will I miss competitions that run in Mercell?
- Competitions run in KGV are announced on Doffin, and on TED above the EU/EEA thresholds. Tenderen indexes both, so they appear in your Tenderen search and alerts.
