Integration guide
Slack integration: tender alerts in your channels
Tenderen posts new tenders that match your alerts, and activity on your bid workspaces, to the Slack channels you choose. You connect a workspace once under Settings → Integrations → Slack and then pick a channel for each alert.
Best for: Bid teams that already work in Slack and want new matches discussed in a shared channel instead of in individual inboxes.
What gets posted
- New tender matches: one message per new match for every alert that has Slack turned on, with the alert name, the tender title and key details, a link to the notice and the match score.
- Bid-workspace activity: new comments, section status changes and new tasks, posted to the default channel with a link back to the workspace.
- A test message, so you can check a channel before you rely on it.
Set it up
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack and click Connect Slack workspace.
- Approve the permissions Slack asks for: send messages to channels, read workspace information and view your profile.
- Choose the default channel. Workspace activity goes here.
- Open an alert, turn on Slack and choose the channel that alert should post to. Use the test button to confirm that the message arrives.
Alternative: an incoming-webhook URL
If you are not allowed to install apps in your Slack workspace, paste a Slack incoming-webhook URL under Settings → Notifications instead. Tenderen then posts the notifications it sends you — new matches, deadline reminders and changes to tenders you follow — to that channel.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing arrives: check that the alert has Slack turned on and a channel selected. Slack only receives what the alert finds, so an alert with no new matches stays quiet.
- A private channel stays empty: add the Tenderen app to that channel in Slack, then send a test message again.
- Messages stopped after a colleague left: the connection belongs to the person who connected Slack. Reconnect from an account that is still active.
- Messages are in the wrong language: the channel uses the language of the person who connected Slack.
Limits
- Slack and Microsoft Teams notifications are part of the Pro and Enterprise plans. The Free plan sends alerts as a daily email digest.
- Notifications are one-way. You cannot save, comment on or change a tender from Slack.
- New tenders are matched against alerts every 15 minutes after they enter Tenderen's index.
Frequently asked questions
- Can different alerts post to different channels?
- Yes. Every alert has its own Slack channel setting, so you can send IT tenders to one channel and construction tenders to another.
- Does the Slack integration read our messages?
- No. Tenderen only posts messages. The permissions cover sending messages, reading basic workspace information (such as the channel list) and your profile.
